K’Nex, a toy company since the 1990s, allows for a way to bring architectural designs to life. The toys are made up of several different plastic pieces that fit together to form 3-Dimensional structures.

An exhibit at Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort Lauderdale demonstrates these creative possibilities. The K’NEX: Building Thrill Rides is on display from now until May 6, 2012. Visitors who attend can learn about the math, science and technology of rides at amusement parks. The models of popular theme park rides are built out of K’Nex. By seeing a more manageable sized version of these rides, concepts such as energy and motion are more easily explored.

Not only is this a learning experience, but also an opportunity to build your own structural designs. These can be purchased with the pricing set by a Weigh and Pay model. The Explore Store will have K’Nex available to purchase as well if you would like to take your designing home instead.

For fun and learning, visit the K’Nex Building Thrill Rides exhibit before May. Navis can help you ship any masterpiece you construct!
