Meet Our Franchise Owners
We’d like to introduce you to a few
fellow franchise owners.
Steve Smith, Navis Pack & Ship Certified Training Facility Greensboro, NC
The U.S. Army slogan, “relevant and ready” certainly fits for veteran Steve Smith. For 24 years, he solved logistics supply problems for Army operations in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. That experience helped Steve launch his Navis Pack & Ship in Greensboro, NC. Steve also won our 2005 Franchisee of the Year award for executing our proven business model successfully, participating in many supplemental activities to further grow his business, hiring a dedicated quality staff that exudes confidence and pride in their brand, and operating one of our two training centers, a responsibility he takes very seriously. Steve has done more than does his fair share of building a solid foundation for the Navis brand.
Kathy Bacigalupi and Belinda Reid: Navis Sacramento Gets Off to Fast Start
The Navis Pack & Ship serving Sacramento, California, recently reported the highest volume ever for a new Navis location’s second full month in business…and then they grew revenues by another 25% in their third month. Partners Kathy Bacigalupi and Belinda Reid are the first two-woman franchisee team at Navis. Kathy retired years ago after a successful sales career for a high-tech manufacturer. She owned two other small businesses before joining Navis. Belinda's professional background is in Information Technology. She started as an operator 26 years ago with a major telecom company and recently retired as a manager of network design and implementation. They wanted a business they could grow together and that would allow them more freedom and control over their futures. That’s why they chose Navis.
"We’re getting great leads from our local Google advertising campaign," Kathy said, including one from Intel that turned into a major fulfillment account and won them a place on Intel's preferred vendor list. The Navis Support Team Internet Marketing Specialist manages this campaign.
Mover referrals have also been hot. They use techniques from the Navis Revenue Enhancement Program, a weekly sales coaching and market development program for all new Navis franchisees. "Movers started referring business to us on the second and third days we were open," Kathy said, “and it’s just grown from there.”
Franchisees that Give Back to Their Communities
That’s No Bull!
A Navis Pack & Ship in Dallas is shipping a herd of bulls around the country to help raise money for charities fighting against hunger. The bulls are 3' x 3' PVC cutouts that will be turned into works of art by celebrities. Anti-hunger charities will benefit when the bulls are auctioned off after an eight-city U.S. tour and trip to Spain. Navis built reusable boxes for each of the bulls plus three hinged, lockable crates that hold 12-15 bulls a piece. They also arranged transportation for each stop on the tour and will ship individual bulls to winning bidders. They have donated all their profits to the effort, billing materials and transportation at cost and charging nothing for their time. Their contribution was described in a recent Dallas Business Journal article. |
