Works San Jose

Works/San José is the premier community art and performance center in the South Bay. Founded in 1977 by local artists, Works is an all volunteer, non-profit, alternative art and performance center. They work to expand the scope of the cultural and artistic experience, while at the same time challenging the boundaries of contemporary art.

Every third Friday from 7-10pm, Works features “Words Drawing Music”, a fun and friendly environment for artists to come together and enjoy inspirational poetry and music while exploring their artistic creativity. There is an open mic for anyone who would like to participate and paper and drawing materials are also provided.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer in the gallery, call the gallery coordinator at 408-295-8378, to learn how you can help. As always, if you buy a piece of art from the gallery, or in their auctions, Navis can help you get it home safely. Navis can handle all your art packing, shipping, and crating needs - whatever they may be!
