This weekend, August 27th & 28th is the Palo Alto Festival of the Arts. If you are planning to be in the San Jose area, this is an event you will not want to miss. This year marks the festival’s 30th anniversary and will be held on University Avenue in beautiful downtown Palo Alto, just about 20 miles from San Jose.

Over 300 artists and crafters will set up booths to display their beautiful work. New to the festival this year is the addition of a themed-sculpture garden at the corner of University & Cowper. The theme of the festival this year is focused on the world of kinetics. Famous kinetic sculpture artist, Andrew Carson, from Seattle, will be showing off his art that has been receiving rave reviews from buyers nationwide.

Returning this year to the festival, is the always-popular Italian Street Painting Expo, which gives fifty chalk artists the opportunity to transform Tasso Street with larger-than-life art. Your children can also enjoy the Kids' Art Studio at the festival while you enjoy the micro-brews and fine wines that will be served as well.
