San Francisco has a standing reputation of being the hub for hippies and music lovers of the 1960s. Although times have changed, the enthusiasm for music has not.
Amoeba Music, in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood, has been labeled, “The Best Record Store in the Country” by SF Chronicle. Here, music fanatics can choose from an eclectic display of vinyl. Particular focus is given to rock, hip-hop, electronica and jazz. There is also a selection of underground indie, punk, and emo artists, reggae, and experimental. Those are just to name a few.
